The forge and the smith
The Koskikylä forge stands on the Johku River, close to the Johku rapids, where the water once turned the village mill. The forge has a hearth, an anvil and tools, some of which have passed from one smith to the next.
Matti has worked as a smith all his adult life. His knife handles are curly birch, whose patterns make every handle different. He is happy to tell you where the wood comes from and how a blade is hardened.
This is a Johku demo website. The forge and the people are fictional.
